This time tomorrow I will be sitting at a table in the dealer’s room of the CONsole Room Doctor Who convention at the Hilton in Minneapolis!
I’ll be sitting on a panel as a newly published author and spending the rest of my time promoting my book. I’m really looking forward to talking about what went right, what I’ve learned, what I can improve on, and so forth. I’m also really looking forward to connecting with other authors. There’s nothing better than talking with people who have been there and know some of the tricks of the trade, so to speak.
The only portion I’m a little nervous about is the Doctor Who portion. I’m a newer fan to the show; I’ve only really watched the newer series, and I’m not even caught up. I’ve seen a handful of older episodes, and watched some of those old episodes when I was a kid. All I really remember about them is being totally scared out of my mind by some of the episodes. I couldn’t tell you which Doctor they were, they were just whatever episodes were on PBS.
I am really looking forward to talking about my work, my process, the influence of journalism on my writing and my philosophy on writing. And I’m really looking forward to what the other panelists have to say.
Well, that’s it, I’m off – hope to see you there!
